The public is invited to the Rochester Public Library Auditorium on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. to meet author Brenda Child as she presents her newest book, Our World Together: Ojibwe Women and the Survival of Community. In this book, Child uses individual stories to describe the importance of women’s roles in the history and economy of the Ojibwe people.

Brenda J. Child, a member of the Red Lake Ojibwe Nation, is an associate professor American Studies at the University of Minnesota. She is also the author of Boarding School Seasons: American Indian Families, 1900-1940.

The Visiting Author Series is sponsored by the Friends of the Rochester Public Library.
