David Allardice – Glenfiddich Ambassador (Central/South East)

David AllardiceA native Scotsman who grew up within driving distance of the Glenfiddich distillery in Dufftown, Scotland, David Allardice is the true embodiment of the pioneering spirit of Glenfiddich.  A Scottish transplant whose whisky expertise was developed many thousands of miles from home, David has consistently demonstrated the kind of passion, experience and resourcefulness that has become the hallmark of the distillery he represents. Surprisingly for someone who grew up in the heart of whisky-making tradition, it took a move to America to truly ignite David’s passion for Scotch.  Shortly after moving to Dallas, Texas in 2005 to pursue a career in web design, David discovered his fierce passion for the fascinating world of whisky after a chance encounter with a dram of Glenfiddich. From there, the rest is history.

For David, there was no looking back, as he began to amass as much knowledge about whisky as possible, sampling different whiskies and teaching himself all there was to know about nosing and production.  He began dedicating his time after-hours to education and exploration and, under the guidance of his new mentors in the William Grant & Sons family, he quickly became acclimated to the industry.  The history of Glenfiddich, and that it is helmed by one of the last remaining independent and family-owned Scotch whisky companies, inspired David to return to Scotland on his own dime to apprentice with the masters at the distillery—a cherished experience that solidified his ambition to be an Ambassador for this pioneering Single Malt.

Starved of sunlight in his youth in Scotland, David has embraced the warm and favorable climes of Texas, as well as the optimistic and down-to-earth culture in the American South. Having played competitively in Scotland, England, and Holland, David still plays soccer weekly, and enjoys a round of golf whenever the humidity is forgiving. When back home from the road, David can be also found mixing on his prized-possession turntables and experimenting with music production.
