The Library can help with homework!

September 12, 2011

Homework HelpNow that school is back in session, so is our Homework Assistance.  The library has Homework Help in many different formats for every level of education.

  • BrainFuse is an online service that connects students to trained tutors who will help with homework in the areas of Science, Math, Social Studies and English. Students from kindergarten through 12th grade and even college introduction levels can log on 7 days a week from 2:00 – 11:00 pm. The tutors communicate with students with an instant messaging type format and a drawing surface to help diagram those tricky geometry problems.
  • Homework Assistance Study Table is held in the library every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:45 pm in Meeting Room B. Area volunteers provide individual assistance to students with specific questions regarding their daily homework assignments. Although all students in the community are welcome, the academic levels of students who attend are generally grades 4 – 12.
  • Learn-A-Test (Learning Express Library) is an interactive online learning platform that includes practice tests designed to help students with math, writing and reading comprehension skills for elementary through high school levels, GED, college entrance exams and much more.
  • Ask a Librarian option is available during regular library hours. You can reach a librarian by calling 507-328-2309, using instant messaging – IM: RPLmninfo (Yahoo & AIM), by emailing us:, or by texting us: 507-722.1581. (All texting charges from your phone provider will apply. Messages received after library hours will be answered the next day library is open.)
  • AskMN 24/7 is a online reference service for library patrons in Minnesota. With AskMN, you can contact a library any time, day or night.
