The Library going out and about – Irish Fest 2011

August 29, 2011

Look for our table at Irish Fest!

Saturday, September 3, from 12:00 – 4:00 pm in the Peace Plaza.

We’ll be showing people how to use our genealogy databases to trace their Irish roots as well as having some Irish genealogy books and other books on Ireland.

Did you know… “Ireland was one of the earliest countries to evolve a system of hereditary surnames… In the eleventh century they prefixed Mac to the father’s Christian name or O to that of a grandfather or earlier ancestor…” The Surnames of Ireland/Edward MacLysaght, 1991
