Visiting Author Series: Wendy Webb

Wendy WebbMinnesota author, Wendy Webb will be visiting the library on Thursday, September 22 at 700:pm.

Wendy grew up in St. Louis Park and attended the University of Minnesota, where she earned a degree in political science. She traveled abroad for some time, settled back in the U.S. to work on Capitol Hill, and eventually returned to her Minnesota roots.

After an internship at the Minneapolis magazine City Pages, Wendy spent the next twenty years writing for most of the major publications in the Twin Cities. She currently lives in the Lake Superior port city of Duluth, where she is the editor-in-chief of Duluth-Superior Magazine, a lifestyle monthly publication.

In addition to her position at Duluth-Superior, she recently published her first novel, The Tale of Halcyon Crane, which won the 2011 Minnesota Book Award for Genre Fiction.

When she’s not writing, she and her mate, photographer Steve Burmeister, and son Ben enjoy spending time at their cabin in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, walking their 130-pound Alaskan Malamute named Tundra, and visiting with family and friends in Minneapolis.
