Library Class – Facebook

January 10, 2011

Facebook iconFacebook is a great way to stay in touch with family and friends, to find out where your  highschool chums ended up and who they ended up with, and maybe even get reunited with an old flame (oh my!).

I agree, some people put way too much information on their facebook walls, but what you put on your wall is entirely up to you, and you have the power to choose who can see what you post and who can’t. When I finally allowed my daughter to get her own facebook account, my advice to her was: Never post anything on your wall that will ruin your presidency campaign.

If you don’t have a facebook account because it’s your personal choice not to, I totally respect that. But if it’s because you don’t know how, then I have some news for you!

The library will be holding a class on February 9 at 6:00 pm to teach you how to open your own facebook account. The only prerequisite is that you have an email address. Space is limited in this class so registration is required. You can register online, at the second-floor reference desk or by calling 328-2309.

After you set up your Facebook account, you can “like” the Rochester Public Library’s Facebook page and stay up-to-date on what’s going on in the library!
